C 4th July 2014

Who doesn’t love summer holidays? Here’s a guide to making the most of your summer holidays here in Swansea Bay…

What better way to spend your summer holiday than on Britain’s Best Beach? Go surfing, coasteering or kayaking – or just sit back, relax and feel the sand between your toes…

Or, explore the Wales Coast Path – all 39 miles of it is here on Gower! You don’t have to do it all at once – stay for the weekend or the week and do it in sections. Stop off for an ice cream along the way!

No sun? No problem – you can surf indoors too at the LC Leisure Complex! Or explore Wales’ oldest and newest museums; they’re next door to each other. Then head across the road to the tropical paradise that is Plantasia and meet their unusual residents – lizards, piranhas, creepy crawlies and cotton-top tamarin monkeys. There’s always something going on here too, especially in summer.

Garden lover? Head to Singleton Botanical Gardens. The gardens contain fine specimens of rare and exotic plants from around the world. They are at their most spectacular during August when a full programme of events, tours and demonstrations are staged during Botanics in Bloom The Botanical Gardens house one of Wales’ premier plant collections, with spectacular herbaceous borders and large glasshouses.

Love traditional shows? The Gower Show takes place on Sunday 3rd August at the Penrice Estate, Gower and is always a very popular event with local people and visitors alike.
