Travelling to Swansea

Arriving by Train or Coach?
Swansea Bay is served by train from every part of the UK, mostly every hour, either direct or through a single hub connection; and by coach, less frequent but equally comprehensive.

There are also good airport links from London Heathrow & Gatwick, Bristol, and Cardiff International.

Arriving by car?

Lots of you will arrive by car, but you don’t have to drive when you arrive – as buses will get you to most attractions. Park & Ride at one of Swansea’s three sites and get amazing discounts for onward travel on local buses in Swansea and Mumbles.

Local Buses

X5 CLYNE 0614 1 (2)

Take a local bus to a number of attractions and locations, including:

Waterfall Country: four of the top waterfalls (Aberdulais, Melincourt, Sgŵd Gwladus and Henrhyd) are served directly by Cymru Clipper express buses with a moderate walk from the bus stop.

A Walk in the Park:  with a bus to get you there; three fabulous country parks (Gnoll Estate, Neath, Margam Country Park, and Afan Forest Park) are well served by bus.

Gower Coast Path: easily the best way to explore this stunning footpath is to take the bus to your chosen start point and another bus back from your end point. Gower Explorer buses cover the Peninsula comprehensively and serve principal nodal points on the path.

Heritage & History: so much of interest – Aberdulais Tinworks & Waterfall, Cefn Coed Colliery Museum, Gower Heritage Centre, Oystermouth Castle – all served directly and frequently by bus.

Beaches in Profusion: all Swansea beaches are served by bus, some with a short walk from the bus stop. Top beaches – Caswell Bay, Three Cliffs Bay, Oxwich Bay, Mewslade, Rhossili – are just as close to the bus as the car park.
