Swansea Bay and Gower have an excellent reputation for all types of fishing, including sea, rock and coarse fishing

The Gower Peninsula is well known for its sea fishing opportunities.  Many Gower beaches offer outstanding fishing opportunities, including Langland, Port Eynon, Caswell, Oxwich and Llangennith.

Gower is also popular for rock fishing, and is regarded as offering some of the best rock fishing for bass in the UK. The most popular locations include Mumbles Head, Tutt Head, then at the rocks below the coastal path running between Langland and Caswell Bay, Brandy Cove, Pwll Du Head, Oxwich Point, Slade, Port Eynon Point.  There are also other locations between Port Eynon and Worms Head, which is regarded as one of the best rough ground bass venues in Britain.

Fly fishing for bass is very popular at Worms Head and Burry Holms (a small tidal island at the northern end of Llangennith beach).

Coarse angling is very popular in the area, with an abundance of ponds, lakes and fisheries where you can fish for bream, perch, roach, carp and much more.

Swansea is a focal point for boat fishing. It holds national status as one of the longest standing charter ports in the UK.

During the autumn and winter, cod and whiting are the dominant species at Swansea, but from April through to October a much wider mix of fishing is on offer.
