Gower Peninsula Triathlon is 'British Triathlon Event of the Year'
This year's inaugural Gower Peninsula Triathlon has won the prestigious 'British Triathlon Event of the Year' award.
The Gower Peninsula Triathlon
Based on the blue flag quality beach of Port Eynon, Gower, the course was judged 'well designed' and 'tough but fair on competitors' by British Triathlon judges.
An open water sea swim is followed by a challenging and exciting bike section, with a two-lap, multi-terrain run section to finish, taking in sand, grass, footpaths and roads, and finishing on the beach.
The event is held over a weekend, with family-friendly parties before and after the race itself. Next year's event will be held on the 8th August 2009 and is now open for entries.
