Catherine and Michael, together with children Dylan, 11, and Carys, 8, visited their impressive house overlooking the sea at Limeslade, Mumbles in July.

During her break, the actress, in a pair of casual black jogging bottoms, was seen driving her father's Jaguar XJR from their Mumbles home to the Gower Heritage Centre at Parkmill, on the Gower peninsula.

Based around a working 12th-century watermill, the centre boasts an old-fashioned games arcade, a tractor play area, an animal farm with chicks, ducks, baby rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, sheep, lambs and horses and, what may have interested the couple, it is also now home to La Charrette, Wales' smallest cinema.

Michael Douglas said before setting out on the month-long holiday:

"You've got to believe in heaven for perfect happiness but right now I will take warm seas the same temperature as the air, the freshest seafood, giggles from my kids and a Welsh chuckle."
