The party, which happens on Oxford Street on Wednesday (August 14) from 10.30am to 2.30pm, helps mark the build-up to the Swans’ opening fixture against mighty Manchester United at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening.

A human football table is like a giant table football game found in pubs and homes across the country, but you’ll have the chance to take the place of the plastic players in the line-up.

Swansea Council is behind the fun.

Rodeo football, an appearance by Cyril the Swan and a shootout competition with the chance to win Swans merchandise are among the other activities.

There’ll also be the chance to win two tickets for the clash against Manchester United.

Cllr Nick Bradley, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “The Premier League launch party has two goals – to mark the build-up to the new season’s kick-off and to attract more people into our city centre to boost our traders.

“Similar parties have taken place every year summer since the Swans were about to embark on their first Premier League adventure, and they’ve always been hugely popular.

“But the start of the coming Premier League season is especially exciting because of who the Swans are kicking-off against. It’ll be David Moyes’ first league game as Manchester United manager, so the eyes of the world will be on the Liberty Stadium and Swansea Bay.”

The city centre party will also feature face-painting, balloon-modelling and arts and crafts.

The Swans travel to White Hart Lane to take on Spurs on Sunday August 25 in their next Premier League game after Manchester United.
