Discover rural Gower as you make your way from Penmaen to Gowerton along the The Gower Way Mid Sector.

A relatively long but rewarding walk, best suited to experienced walkers.

Walk Summary

Walk grade: Strenuous.
Route type: Linear.
Suitable for: Experienced walkers due to length.
Terrain: The walk covers fields, farm tracks, woodland and moorland.
Start: The southeastern end of Cefn Bryn on footpath 16, by the Gower Way marker stone no.12 (outside Penmaen, GR 527889).
Finish: At marker stone no.30, close to the car park in Gowerton (GR 592963).
Distance covered: 10 miles / 16 km.
Average time: 6 hours.

Useful information

  • Public Transport: Buses run to Penmaen (10 minutes walk from start).
  • Car parking at Cefn Bryn, at kilometre marker no.9.
  • Bring your own refreshments as facilities are limited on this walk
  • No public toilets en route
  • Be prepared, bring a Grid Map
  • Strong shoes or boots and waterproof clothing are advisable.
