After an incredible year of events for Swansea in 2019, 2020 is already shaping up nicely and the fun continues into February!

Catch Wales in action live on the Big Screen, grab a Santander Cycle for a ride along the bay, and have some family fun during February half term!
So read on to find out what’s coming up in Swansea this month, what’s planned for the St. David’s Day celebrations, and much more!

Explore the Bay by Bike this Half Term with Santander Cycles Swansea

Fancy a family bike ride along the seafront this Half Term but not sure how to get all the bikes down to the prom?

Why not leave the adult bikes at home and hire some Santander Cycles instead? Santander Cycles are so easy to use! You can pick up and drop off a bike from any of the six docking stations located across Swansea Bay (you can check how many bikes are available at each station using the app or on the website).

You can hire up to four bikes at a time and a quick trip will cost you as little as £1 per bike. For just £10 per bike you could make a full day of it and use the temporary locking facility to stop off and see the sights or enjoy a leisurely lunch along the way.

The bikes are not suitable for young children so your little ones will need their own.

6 Nations Live on the Big Screen

We’re not rucking about for the Six Nations – you can scrum down and watch all of the action from Wales’ campaign live on Big Screen in Castle Square!

  • Wales v France – Saturday 22 February, 16:45
  • England v Wales – Saturday 7 March, 16:45
  • Wales v Scotland – Saturday 14 March, 14:15

Now, you’ve no excuse… Gwlad! GWLAD!

Celebrity chefs will deliver fantastic flavours in Swansea Bay

We have two amazing celebrity chefs heading to Croeso Food & Drink Festival at the end of the month. Croeso is a two-day festival celebrating all things Welsh held in Swansea’s city centre on Saturday 29th February and Sunday 1st March 2020, 11am – 4pm.

Headlining Saturday’s packed schedule of cooking demonstrations is TV’s Dirty Vegan, Matt Pritchard. The former MTV Dirty Sanchez frontman turned vegan chef and ultra-athlete will be sharing his passion for amazing plant-based food that tastes “BANGING!”

On Sunday we welcome multi Michelin Star award-winning Jean-Christophe Novelli to the Croeso kitchen. Dubbed the nation’s favourite French chef, Jean-Christophe will be making good use of Wales’ fine produce and sharing his tricks of the trade.

The two-day free event features a host of local chefs and celebrity home cooks demonstrating great recipes to inspire you to get cooking. You’ll find Oxford Street jam-packed with food and drink producers from across Wales, and you’ll enjoy a great line-up of entertainment in Castle Square.
