Swansea Bay Easter Essentials

C 18th March 2016

Booked an Easter adventure in Swansea Bay? Good work, you’re in for holiday to remember! To help you make the most of your trip (and ease some of the pain of packing), we’ve put together a list of the ‘essentials’ for all visitors. If you’re yet to book an Easter escape, look no further.

  1. Walking Gear

  2. Walking is one of the best and most popular activities in Swansea Bay. Whether it’s rural, coastal, or urban terrain, we have more walking routes than you can shake a stick – or walking pole, at. You will be hard pressed to find better anywhere else – especially where views are concerned.

  3. The Dog

  4. Everyone deserves a holiday, even those with four legs. We have lots of walking routes, parks, and beaches that welcome dogs where they can run, dig (sand only please!), and swim to their heart’s content, including the one and only Rhossili Bay where they are allowed throughout the year!
Struggle no more with those big doleful eyes pulling at your heartstrings when you leave on holiday – everyone is welcome at ours!

  5. Surfboard

  6. Whether you’re experienced, an amateur, a beginner, or have ambition on becoming the next Kelly Slater, Gower is where it’s at. You’ll find outstanding waves along most of the Gower Peninsular, but the absolute creme de la creme has to be Llangennith Beach – voted in the Guardian’s list of top 10 UK surf spots and classic surfing beaches!

No room to bring your board? Don’t have a board? No clue what you’re doing? No problem, these guys can help.

  7. Camera

  8. SLRs, DSLRs, GoPros, mobiles, even disposables. Whatever your weapon of choice, do not forget to bring a camera (selfie sticks optional)! No more needs to be said, so we’ll just leave you with this… #nofilter 😉

Don’t forget to use #SwanseaBayAdventures when posting your photos on Twitter. Who knows, we may even share them!

  9. Beachwear

  10. Swansea Bay is home to many of Britain’s best beaches. From quiet, hidden gems, to family-friendly and activity-packed, you’re sure to find your perfect beach getaway. Unspoilt scenery, seclusion, fascinating wildlife, and breath-taking views included free of charge. You’re welcome.

  11. Bike

  12. We have plenty of free-from-traffic cycle routes and are part of the Celtic Trail and National Cycle Network. Cycle along Swansea Bay’s 5 mile Promenade, grab an ice cream, ride around some of the quieter roads on the North Gower cycle route while checking out the panoramic views, explore Singleton Park (pictured), or try The Tawe Tour for gentle, traffic free cycling that is great for families. Looking for something more extreme? Master the twisty, rocky, wildly exposed routes at Afan Forest Park. Whichever route you take, just don’t forget your helmet!
