I'm a Celebrity Experience

C 14th November 2016

2016 marks the 14th series of I’m a Celebrity! Yep, that’s right, for the past 14 YEARS we have been glued to our screens as Ant and Dec have dropped crop after crop of fresh faced celebrities into the Australian jungle. We don’t know about you, but after all this time; we are desperate to give it a go. Sadly, short of becoming an overnight Z list celeb or flying to Australia and storming the camp, it didn’t look as if we’d ever get the opportunity to enjoy an I’m a Celebrity experience…until we realised that we have the next best thing right on our doorstep. Hold onto your cork string hats as we reveal how you can experience a day in the life of an I’m a Celebrity Campmate…in Swansea Bay!

We have never been fans of the scary helicopter entrance, and are firmly #teamspeedboat with Ant and Dec all the way. More seals and porpoise than crocs and yabbies, hop aboard with Gower Coast Adventures and cruise past the breathtaking Gower (Gold) Coast and award winning Rhossili (Byron) Bay.

Snake Rock and Crock Creek don’t just appear out of thin air, a bit of slog by starving, moaning campmates is needed to make them home. Dryad Bushcraft is one of the UK’s leading bushcraft and wilderness survival training organisations. Offering the ultimate outdoor adventure experience (minus the starving, moaning and slog), you can learn how to build shelters, create a fire without the luxury of matches, find your own food and water, plus all manner of outdoor survival tips that would prepare anyone for a successful night under the stars.

To stop camp civil war (Dickinson v Franks, Wilkinson v Currie, Cameron v Benn, Hopkins v everyone), team building is essential. With a number of courses especially designed with team building and leadership skills in mind, look no further than Carreg Adventure. Bushcraft, orienteering, muddy assault courses, campfires, climbing trees – all firm I’m a Celebrity favourites. In addition to maintaining jungle camp harmony, it is also great for corporate team building activities, and fun days out with family and friends.

Less Dean Gaffney and Helen Flanagan and more Carl Fogarty and Vicky Pattison, some bushtucker trials require a gung ho attitude and sense of adventure (and sometimes nerves of steel!). Caving, abseiling, raft building, climbing are just some of I’m a Celebrity’s finest offered by the fantastic Adventure Britain.

Unless you’re lucky enough to share a camp with a professional chef a la King of the Jungle Gino D’Acampo, you’ll need to know how to cook and prepare food al fresco. In addition to an exciting array of adventure activities including tree climbing, kayaking and abseiling, you can also cook in the great outdoors with the brilliant Down to Earth (learning a thing or two about eco construction while you’re at it).
