We’ve still got a few days of festive fun before the big sleigh comes to town – so if you need some ideas on how to keep your Christmas spirit turned up to eleven – then try our top 5 top ways stay merry and bright right up to Christmas Day (and beyond!).
Our annual market is at the heart of our city centre shopping experience; you can even smell Christmas, as the lovely aromas from the fresh festive food on offer surrounds you! As you browse around the brightly decorated chalets you could be serenaded by a choir or big band as you choose the ideal gift or spoil yourself with something special! Santa’s Grotto is nearby, so your little ones can also make sure Santa knows what’s at the top of their list!
Christmas Market: until Thursday 20th December.
Wrap up warm and head for the bright (Christmas) lights and sounds of our famous festive funfair. There are kiddie rides, ‘I can’t believe I just did that’ rides (which take you up to the stars – and back again – really fast) and our amazing Giant Wheel – for awesome views across the City and Swansea Bay.
Waterfront Winterland: until 6th January.
Waterfront Winterland’s the place to channel your ice dance champion! This year our brand new rink is undercover, so rain won’t stop play and Penguin ‘stabilisers’ are available to help children gain confidence on the ice. Make a night of it and after wowing the crowds with your triple salchow, relax in the Waterfront Winterland bar with a Glühwein or a hot chocolate with all the trimmings.
Ice Skating: until 6th January
We’re all big kids at this time of year and Swansea Grand Theatre’s the best place to test this theory – oh yes it is! Cinderella is one of the all-time favourites and a host of national (and local) stars are on hand to make it really special for everyone – even your (fairy) godmother. But if Dickens or Shakespeare is more your cup of egg-nog then the Taliesin Theatre has performances and live screenings of both.
Cinderella at the Grand Theatre: 14th December to the 13th January
Taliesin Theatre: Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale on 17th December and A Christmas Carol – As told By Jacob Marley (deceased) on 20th December
There’s a real feel good factor to singing along to your favourite Christmas songs. So this is the time to carol your way to happiness or to enjoy one of the stirring Christmas Concerts on offer in the majestic surroundings of Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall. A Candlelit Christmas is one of the seasonal favourites.
Brangwyn Hall: A Candlelit Christmas on 23rd December

There are some tasty accommodation offers available at this time of year if you just need a couple of days away to recharge your batteries in the run up to the big day. Or if you want to escape for the holidays and be pampered at Christmas there’s an alternative to cooking the turkey yourself!
Merry Christmas from all of us at Visit Swansea Bay! We hope you have a Cool Yule however you celebrate!
