It needn’t be a bleak mid-winter this January, there’s still lots going on in Swansea over the coming month, read on to find out more…

2022 was Yours to Enjoy!

Last year was jam-packed with events and activities in Swansea Bay. The year kicked off with the city centre Croeso St David’s Day festival and ended with the glorious Christmas Parade.

We welcomed the World Triathlon Para Series and IRONMAN 70.3, Singleton Park hosted three huge concerts and over 3000 runners took part in the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k. Our venues welcomed thousands of visitors and outdoor attractions saw residents make the most of the dry summer.

Watch our video above for a nostalgic look back at what was a wonderful year for Swansea.

Waterfront Winterland

With a few more days before the schools go back why not head to the Waterfront Winterland where the colourful lights, party music and thrilling rides will give the whole family a post Christmas boost.

Take a trip on the big wheel for spectacular views of the city, try your hand at winning a huge cuddly toy, sample the delicious German sausages or toast marshmallows. You have until Sunday 8 January to get your skates on and perfect your glide on the ice rink.

Beauty and the Beast

Swansea Grand’s panto Beauty and the Beast has gone down a storm so far and the brand new digital set is a must see! Packed with laughs, incredible costumes and the usual silliness, it stars Swansea’s favourite dame and newly awarded Freedom of the City recipient – Kevin Johns. It runs until Sunday 15 January, if you haven’t seen it yet, or fancy going again, tickets are available here.

BBC National Orchestra of Wales

Step into the magical world of ‘Disney’s Fantasia in concert live to film’! Join BBC National Orchestra of Wales for a unique and cosy afternoon concert at the beautiful Brangwyn Hall on Saturday 14 January at 3pm. With big screens showing clips from Disney’s Fantasia (1940) and Fantasia 2000… plus BBC NOW performing the soundtrack LIVE! It’s the perfect concert for all ages. Spellbinding!
