Get down to Swansea on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 February for Croeso – the ultimate St David’s Day celebration.
The two-day Welsh festival, in the city centre between 11am and 5pm, is set to be packed with cooking demos, and showing you how to create your own fine-dining experience at home will be BBC Great British Menu’s Nathan Davies and Hywel Griffith.
Celebrity Masterchef winner and Eastenders star, John Partridge will make good use of delicious Welsh lamb to rustle up a meatball dish that will have your taste buds tingling.
You can also enjoy live music at Croeso, with artists from Wales’ indie music scene taking to the stage in Castle Square, plus there’s family activities, food and drink, street entertainers, a treasure trail to win great prizes, St David parade, and plenty of opportunities to speak Welsh.
Croeso is brought to you by Swansea Council in association with First Cymru and is supported by Food & Drink Wales.
Don’t miss out, take the family and get involved – it’s free!
Half term is coming up, why not try one of Swansea’s many free trails?
Whether it’s exploring exhibits, browsing books or a walk amongst the wildlife– there’s something for everyone.
A few of the half-term activities on offer include the Kids in Museums’ Montgomery Bonbon: Museum Mystery Trail which runs from Saturday 11 February until Friday 31 March – both the Dylan Thomas Centre and Swansea Museum are taking part in this event which offers the chance to test your detective skills, solve puzzles, and have fun.
Swansea Museum is also offering the chance to tackle their mouse trail and find the 22 mice hidden around the venue – it’s quite a challenge to find them all.
The Glynn Vivian Art Gallery is running a series of free family drop-in workshops during half term, including set building, painting, puppetry and animation, in partnership with Screen Alliance Wales, Bad Wolf and IJPR Media.
You can also ‘Help save Lyra!’ and pick up a new ‘His Dark Materials’ trail to guide you around the galleries during your visit.
Swansea’s 17 fantastic libraries are also hosting a whole range of fun events including Springtime crafts, treasure hunts and the chance to make bug windmills. More information on our trails.
