Experience the sounds of the Swing Era when the Down for the Count Orchestra make their Wales debut at the Brangwyn Hall on Wednesday 3rd May.
The 30-piece Orchestra have been hailed as “awesome” by Michael Bublé and they are known for their masterful renditions of beloved classics from icons like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat ‘King’ Cole, and Judy Garland.

Join the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at the Brangwyn Hall on Friday 12th May at 7:30pm for an unmissable concert.
BBC NOW will perform with the New York born conductor James Feddeck and the award winning young Romanian pianist Daniel Ciobanu, who is destined to be a huge name in the world of orchestral music.
With music by Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky and the English composer, Anna Clyne, this promises to be a uplifting and energetic concert suitable for all music lovers!

Enjoy a month of music this May at the Brangwyn. The month begins with a free lunchtime organ recital with Nigel Davies on May 2nd, and the following evening the 30-piece Down for the Count Orchestra play timeless classics from the Great American Songbook at the Voices of Swing event. Described by Michael Bublé as “Awesome!!!”, you can expect to hear classics such as I’ve Got You Under My Skin and S’Wonderful.
Fans of the Thin White Duke and Ziggy Stardust are in for a treat with Bowie by Candlelight on May 5th, featuring ‘David Live’, the David Bowie Tribute Show. A unique atmosphere is created by hundreds of (safe) candles in the beautiful Brangwyn Hall, so Let’s Dance.
The music continues May 12th with Symphonic Dances from BBC National Orchestra of Wales, an evening featuring Masquerade by Anna Clyne (a piece commissioned to open the 2013 Last Night of the Proms), Piano Concerto No. 1 by Tchaikovsky and Symphonic Dances by Rachmaninov. Returning to BBC NOW by popular demand is the prodigiously talented pianist Daniel Ciobanu, and the evening promises to be theatrical, invigorating and dynamic.
Swansea International Jazz Festival is back with another line-up of legendary musicians, bringing the cool sound of jazz to the city from Thursday 15th to Monday 19th June.
We’re packing scores of brilliant jazz music into one weekend with some of the best local and international talent performing in six concerts:

• Laurence Cottle All-Star Big Band
• Daniel John Martin’s Gypsy Jazz Quartet
• The Coalminers
• Iain MacKenzie
• HHH – Mo Pleasure
And… if that’s not enough jazz to keep you entertained there’s also a workshop for young musicians, an afternoon concert on the Copper Jack, and a packed stroller programme of free gigs – full details to be released soon.
Swansea Council proudly brings you Swansea International Jazz Festival in partnership with Swansea Jazz Club.
The hugely-popular Wales Airshow returns on July 1st and 2nd, and will see thrilling air displays in the skies over Swansea Bay. Already confirmed to appear at the weekend are the Red Arrows, Typhoon Display Team, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Team Raven. The excitement is not only limited to the sky as there will be a ton of entertainment on the ground too including replica planes, interactive military displays, a fun fair and live music throughout the weekend.

Swansea is set to host another week of world class sport in summer 2023, with the World Triathlon Para Series returning on 15 July and IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea on 16 July. We’ll also see the return of the week-long Para Sport Festival from 10 – 16 July.We want everyone to enjoy these events and therefore in order to safely facilitate these events, a number of temporary road closures, traffic diversions and parking restrictions will be in place for the IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea event. There’s lots to choose from – you could hop on a pedalo at Singleton Park – swan or dragon the choice is yours – try some crazy golf while at the park or at Southend Gardens in Mumbles.
Or if you’re after a splashing time Blackpill Lido is now open and features a paddling pool and water features.
Also don’t forget the Swansea Bay Rider Land Train for an especially scenic ride along the Prom – choo choo!
Travel through time this May with a visit to Oystermouth Castle.
Trace the footsteps of medieval kings, knights and nobles. Walk the castle’s ramparts and discover how it was defended. Explore Lady Alina’s chapel and see the remains of 14th century paintwork. Open daily, 1 April to 30 September, 11am – 5pm.
