Sunday 15 Sep

‘Begin at the beginning’ this half term with a visit to the most creative setting in Dylan Thomas’ life. His birthplace and family home in the Uplands of Swansea was the place that bore witness to a near two-thirds of the material that made up his published works! Busily writing away in his tiny bedroom from a young boy to a young man.

Open daily from 10:30am – 4:30pm

You will explore the recreated Edwardian interior learning of the fascinating history of the family. From the early beginnings of Dylan’s father ‘DJ’ in rural Carmarthenshire in 1876, the Swansea roots of Dylan’s ‘Welsh mam’ Florence, the largely forgotten story of Nancy (Dylan’s elder sister,) right through to Dylan’s own literary beginnings, marriage, fame, early death and now legendary status. A visit to 5 Cwmdonkin Drive is an absolute must for anyone with an interest in Wales’ most celebrated poet.

Visits are priced at £8 per adult and £6 for children (under 16) and concessions.
