Join in the half-term fun at Swansea Museum as we learn more about the ‘Lion Dog’ favoured by Chinese emperors in a fascinating talk and drawing workshop.

The Pekingese also known as the Lion Dog, Peking Lion Dog, Pelchie Dog, or Peke is an ancient breed of toy dog, originating in China. The breed was favoured by royalty of the Chinese imperial court as both a lap dog and companion dog.

Discover more about these wonderful animals, featured in Chinese art and sculpture, in a short talk before creating your own artistic illustration of a Lion Dog in a drop in drawing workshop suitable for all ages.
