Croeso is a festival celebrating all things Welsh held in Swansea. 

The best of local Welsh culture including:

  • Children’s activities

Head to Swansea’s St David’s Place to hear the wonderful sounds of Welsh music before moving to Oxford Street where you can sample the best of Welsh food, drink, and handcrafted goods. Don’t miss the cooking demonstrations!

With music, poetry, and live entertainment you’ll find plenty of Welsh culture to enjoy at Croeso. You can even say ‘Shwmae!’ (Hello!) and immerse yourself in the Welsh language, there’ll be plenty of help for those learning (or contemplating) Welsh.

  • 6pm – 8pm: Thursday the 29th of February sees a joint launch night for both Gŵyl Croeso Abertawe and the Cân i Gymru competition at Swansea Arena. The free entry event will take place in the arena’s foyer between 18:00-20:00, and will feature live and DJ sets from the best in contemporary Welsh language music, including some former Cân i Gymru contestants! Cân i Gymru competition.

2024 Croeso Trail!

When you’re visiting the 2024 Croeso festival, make sure to pick up a competition flyer and follow the Croeso Trail to win some great prizes!

Hidden in various venues across the city centre are different Welsh-themed images.

Find and note all 8 with your contact details and you could win a prize bundle containing a family pass to Buzz Trampoline Park, a family pass to Plantasia Tropical Zoo, 2 tickets to a Swansea City AFC football match (Swansea City AFC V QPR 1st April ) and a Plantasia Tropical Zoo cuddly soft toy!

Every completed entry will also receive a goody bag courtesy of Original Cottages includes a FREE child entry ticket to Plantasia Tropical Zoo,  a 25% off entry voucher to Buzz Trampoline Park, a drink from Radnor Hills, and provided by Brace’s Bakery a 6 pack of their New lemon curd welsh cakes. The Croeso St David’s Parade

Don your Welsh costumes, rugby shirts and flags as The City of Swansea Pipe Band lead a celebratory St David’s Day parade around the city centre. Our stilted Welsh characters, mascots and our legendary Welsh Dragon will all be stepping out in style to celebrate all things Welsh! To join in, please head to St David’s Place  where the parade will begin at 12:30pm and return at approximately 12:50pm.

2024 Cwtsh Marquee

Come join Menter Iaith Abertawe in the Cwtsh Marquee to learn more about opportunities to enjoy the Welsh language in the Swansea area. A big welcome to all!

As well as an opportunity to learn more about other Welsh language events on the horizon, there will also be opportunities to browse a selection of Siop Tŷ Tawe’s gifts & books and learn more about the courses available via Learn Welsh Swansea Bay Region.

There will be a chance to meet Mr Urdd and Magi Ann, and Cymraeg i Blant will be offering Story and Song sessions as well as information about further opportunities for families to enjoy the Welsh language together. Expect games and pop-up entertainment over the course of the day!
