Explore the world of ancient Egypt through our special Egyptology Day, learn the art of calligraphy, make a scarab fridge magnet, and write your name hieroglyphics. Something for everyone!

Whilst you’re at the museum why not get up close to a real Egyptian mummy. Hor was a clothier priest and scribe of the ancient Egyptian god Atum. In the daily ritual of the temple it was his job to change the clothing on the holy statue of Atum. He lived in Akhmim in Upper Egypt between 250-200 BC.
