From the 5th-19th August, Festival of Stitch will be in Swansea! The textile extravaganza celebrates the diversity, colour and beauty of all forms of Stitch.
You will be able to visit Swansea’s Exhibition Centres showing Textile Artwork inspired by stories from Children’s Literature. A pink button trail will guide people to these exhibitions and will lead through a Swansea City decorated with vibrant and interactive Textile Street Art.
On the 13th and 14th of August, a marquee in Portland Street will host Taster Sessions. This Little Shop of Skills will be a chance to try a wide variety of textile and stitch techniques. Each session is free, led by skilled artists taking you into the diverse world of textiles and stitch.

There are six day long Artist Led Workshops to be held at Swansea Museum. There are more details on their website – don’t forget to book!
On 13th and 14th August, local textile artists will be demonstrating felting, spinning and weaving in marquees sited near The National Waterfront Museum of Wales. Alongside there will be a great chance to buy high quality textile products!
