Glynn Vivian Grand Opening – Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October
Swansea’s iconic Glynn Vivian Art Gallery will be re-opening to the public on Saturday 15 October from 2pm, following the completion of a multi-million pound redevelopment and restoration project.
A new state-of-the-art extension will link the historic grade two listed 1911 with the new public entrance, and improvements to facilities and access will ensure the Glynn Vivian is fit for the 21st Century.
With more gallery and social spaces, a new library, lecture theatre and community room, the Glynn Vivian will offer a warm and welcoming environment for the enjoyment of art. The exciting new additions also include a café, shop, and lift to all galleries, so more people than ever can enjoy access to the artworks and exhibitions.
Glynn Vivian opens with a full weekend of free events and live music, on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October and marks the beginning of a new vibrant and inspiring art space for everyone.
