This exhibition traces the remarkable life of the famous Swansea Missionary Griffith John, who went to China in 1855 and stayed for over fifty years.

He travelled the country extensively, where he was a widely popular figure, and set up schools, hospitals and colleges.

This exhibition updates his legacy including material gathered in 2016 during Swansea Museum’s involvement in the 150th Anniversary Celebrations in Wuhan of Union Hospital which was founded by Griffith John.
