A musical story of overcoming by the talented Swansea born Ify Iwobi.

Through the voices of children hear the story of Swansea born pianistcomposermusician Ify Iwobi.
Join three local schools (Ysgol Gymraeg Bryn Y Mor, St Josephs Cathedral School, Llanrhidian Primary) and let the ‘Illuminate’ music take you on an exhilarating and emotional journey where you feel the rhythm, experience the sounds and hear the story unfold. The show charts the course of a young girl who discovers the art of composition at the tender age of 7, encounters difficulties and tells the world her story through the lyrics of her songs! This show will pull at your heartstrings, once seen never forgotten!

Part of the proceeds of this concert will be used to educate 10 children for 2020 through the Professor Joseph Ogbonna Uzo Foundation.

Illuminate features Anais the storyteller, musicians from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama as well as other accomplished young musicians from Wales. It also includes dance routines from the Crossing Borders dancers.

Ify Iwobi has wowed audiences locally and internationally performing with her band in respected venues such as the Wales Millennium Centre, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, St Fagans, the Pierhead Building, the Armed Forces Music Festival, the Temple Of Peace Cardiff and the UK Houses of Parliament to name but a few! To add to her list of successes she has composed the track ‘Assemble’ which the Welsh Government used as the tribute piece to mark the contributions of ethnic minority servicemen and women in World Wars I & II.
