Swansea International Jazz Festival 2024
15 - 17 June

Natural mindfulness / forest bathing (or to give it it’s Japanese name Shinrin Yoku) is the practice of taking the time to relax, enjoy and experience nature.  ‘Forest bathing is based on the Japanese practice, shinrin-yoku, which can be translated as “taking in the medicine or atmosphere of the forest.”

While forest bathing began in Japan in the 1980s, it has recently grown more popular worldwide.’ For more information, see: https://www.verywellmind.com/what-is-forest-bathing-5190723

The session will take up to a maximum of 2 hours and will be a small group of up to 12.  These will take place in Penllergare Valley Woods, Singleton Park, Clyne Woods and also Coed Back Park. We begin with a still meditation to bring participants into the present moment, followed by a walk in nature using mindfulness techniques, which utilise all the senses. Some activities might include sitting and savouring food or drink, watching or listening to the wildlife in the natural environment or experiencing a sound bath near a river.

The session ends with a walk and a general talk and sharing of experience.
We are funding by the National Lottery so these sessions are free. Check our latest dates and venues on
