Monday 4 June: Newton and Caswell Bay

We will walk through Newton then into Caswell Valley which will bring us to the seafront. From the coast, we will make the return journey without using the same paths. Estimated finish time: 12.15 p.m. Dogs remain on short leads

 
Monday 4 June: A Summer Evening Walk: Mumbles and Langland

A Summer’s twilight walk over Mumbles Head then to Langland via Langland Corner. Return along the coast path to the pier. Afterwards we will go for refreshments to the Pilot Inn. Parking opposite the George is free after 7 p.m. Sunset: 9.22 p.m.

 
Saturday 9 June: Drummau Mountain, Neath

We’ll cross Cwm Clydach Dam then go along part of the Wildlife Walk up to Drummau Mountain. The climb to the top is worth the effort as we will be rewarded with beautiful open views of the Vale of Neath and Swansea Bay. (Steep descending steps at end of walk). Dogs remain on short leads.

 
Monday 11 June: Mumbles Way Part 3
Time: 10am
Meeting Point: Mumbles: Free car park car park at the top of Underhill Park.

We will start by going through the woodland in Underhill Park before emerging at Langland Corner then climbing gradually along Overland Road. We will climb up and go through another of area of woodland with views of Mumbles. Our journey takes us onto Mumbles Hill Local Nature Reserve from where we should get panoramic views of Swansea Bay. We will return along the promenade and back streets of Mumbles. Dogs remain on short leads

 
Tuesday 12 June: Clyne Valley and Gardens

Walk up the Clyne Valley (not the cycle path) to the Railway Inn for a lunch stop. Return to car park via Clyne Gardens around 3.30 p.m. Dogs remain on short leads.

 
Thursday 14 June: A Summer Evening Walk: Pwll Du

A walk with variety, featuring woods, cliffs and beaches. We’ll go down to Brandy Cove then along coast path to Pwll Du, returning along the lower part of the Bishopston Valley. Could be muddy! A walk across Clyne Gardens to Mill Lane and then along the bridleway to Clyne Common for expansive views. Return downhill via Clyne Gardens’ valley path. Refreshments then possible at The Woodman or The Junction. Dogs remain on short leads

 
Thursday 21 June: A Summer Evening Walk: The Battle of Gower Memorial Stone

Taking advantage of the longest day and coinciding with the Welsh festival of Gwyl lfan Ganol Haf, (St John’s of Midsummer}, we’ll have a longer than usual evening walk that will take us from Gowerton to Garngoch along some lesser used paths. There we will visit the memorial to the Welsh victory over the English in 1136 A.O. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Farmers Arms in Waunarlwydd (Swansea Road) for refreshments. Sunday 24 June: The Ystradgynlais Walk

Starting at the historic Iron Works, we will initially follow the road to see part of the Swansea Canal and a stone aqueduct. We will then cross the A4067 to walk through Coronation Park and onto Cwmgiedd. Picking up the path along the route of the old Brecon Railway, we’ll then arrive at the River Tawe. Afterwards, we will go for refreshments at the All Blacks Arms just off the A4067 roundabout. Dogs remain on short leads

 
Tuesday 26 June: A Summer Evening Walk: Cwm Clydach and the Alpacas (maybe!)

Meeting Point: Clydach: Craig Cefn Pare: RSPB Cwm Clydach Nature Reserve Car Park (extra parking opp. New Inn pub).

From the car park, we will climb the mountainside behind the New Inn, following part of the Cwm Clydach Walk. Along this promoted route we should enjoy views of Craig Cefn Pare Village and Gelliwastad. If we’re lucky, we may even see Donkeys and Alpacas before we descend to Pont Llechart. Leaving this bridge, we shall begin the return journey along the river Clydach. Afterwards, we’ll visit the New Inn Public House for refreshments. Sunset: 9.32 p.m. Registered Assistance Dogs Only

We take the new cycle path past Pluck Lake towards the Liberty Stadium then a short but steep incline up through houses to Pare Llewellyn and Morris Castle. This is the weekend of the Air Show so ‘extra’ views from the top. Descend over the river to the small ‘fisherman’s lake’ before our return to the start. Dogs remain on short leads
