Wednesday 2 May: A Summer Evening Walk: An Exploration of Ystradgynlais
Time: 7pm
Meeting Point: Ynyscedwyn Iron Works, Ystradgynlais.
Length: 4 miles

An evening stroll through a town (whose name translates as ‘Vale of the River Cynlais’ that will take us to Diamon Park Miners’ Memorial, the ruins of the Ynyscedwyn Ironworks and other place of interest. Afterward we will go for refreshments to the Ynyscedwyn Arms. Dogs remain on short leads

 
Monday 7 May: RSPB Reserve, Clydach
Time: 10am
Meeting Point: Clydach: RSPB Reserve car park (extra parking available opposite New Inn)
Length: 3.5 miles

A pleasant circular walk along the Lower Clydach river & up through the reserve. Can be muddy! Dpgs remain on short leads.

 
Thursday 10th May: A Summer Evening Walk: Newton to Caswell
Time: 7pm

Length: 4 miles

We’ll walk through quiet lanes to Caswell for the evening light on the bay then make our way back to Newton. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Newton Inn for refreshments. Dogs remain on short leads.

 
Monday 14th May: Mumbles Way Part 2
Time: 10am
Meeting Point: West Cross: Free car park opposite the West Cross Inn. Access via Fairwood Road and Alderwood Road in front of the shops

We will start with an easy stroll along the promenade towards Mumbles. Leaving the coast path we will skirt around the back of Oystermouth Castle and then into the back streets of Norton before entering the cemetery. From there into Mumbles and return to the start on the promenade. Dogs remain on short leads (Join Part 2 on 11 June).

 
Wednesday 16th May: Clyne Woods and Gardens
Time: 10.45am
Meeting Point: Upper Killay: Railway Inn Car Park (BUS.· No.119 departs
Swansea bus station at 10.20am and should arrive at 10.41am.). Driving: take the Gower Road through Killay and take 1st exit off the mini roundabout. The pub and car park are on the left at the bottom of the descent.

A circular walk from the Railway Inn, taking in some of the industrial heritage of Clyne Woods (coal mining, copper smelting and land fill activities) plus a short stretch through Clyne Gardens where there should be some flowers in bloom. Some unsurfaced stretches may be muddy. Dogs remain on short leads

 
Thursday 17th May: A Summer Evening Walk: Rosehill Quarry & Cwmdonkin
Time: 7pm

Length: 3-4 miles

An interesting walk to explore the hidden nature reserve of Rosehill Quarry, Dylan Thomas’ local park and spectacular views over Swansea Bay from Townhill (shouldn’t that be renamed Cityhill?). Afterwards, we’ll visit Uplands Tavern for refreshments. Dogs remain on short leads.

 
Saturday 19th May: Cwm Clydach – Ty Llwydyn – Tan Y Graig

We walk through Craig-Cefn-Parc RSPB Reserve then via Ty Llwydyn and country lanes to Tan Y Graig before returning back down the lower Clydach River to the New Inn for a well-earned pint! Dogs remain on short leads.

 
Monday 21st May: Three Cliffs Circular

This afternoon walk will start at Parkmill and pass through the woods beside the river to the beach, across the stepping-stones then back along the opposite side of the river to the starting point. Dogs remain on short leads.

 
Thursday 24th May: A Summer Evening Walk: Mumbles Hill

A walk along the sea front at Mumbles, following the coastal path before we make a gentle ascent of Mumbles Hill where, weather permitting, we’ll enjoy glorious views over the bay. Then we’ll head back down via Mumbles Ridge. Afterwards we will go for refreshments to ‘Croeso’ cafe on the seafront at Oystermouth. Sunset: 9.09 p.m. Dogs remain on short leads.
