Whiteford and Cwm Ivy

Whitford Burrows lies on north Gower. Due to its location, a range of flowering plants thrive there such as the marsh orchid, fen orchid and early grass sand. The dune habitat is home to oystercatchers, pintails and golden plovers, and an impressive pine forest. Cwm Ivy (SA3 1DE) is an ancient ash wood that opens on to the marsh. The trunks of dead trees can be seen standing where the salt water has made its way inland. There are 2 bird hides in the area where you may spot grey heron, kingfishers, wading birds and otters.
