What you’ll need

  • A selection of papers including some festive colours or patterns.
You could even recycle old brown envelopes or newspaper for a vintage look.
Double sided papers will work particularly well.
  • Scissors
  • A pencil
  • A ruler
  • Double sided tape / sellotape / glue to connect your chains
  • Some twine / thread / string to hang them up

Step 1

Cut your paper into strips – you can make them any width / length but we made ours 2.5cm x 15cm.

Step 2

Take one strip and make a loop, securing in place with double sided tape / sellotape / glue.

Thread another strip though the first loop to make a second loop, and secure.

Step 3

Repeat until you reach your desired paper chain length – alternating the different coloured and patterned papers.

Step 4

Tie a small piece of twine / thread / string around each end loop of your paper chain/s so you can hang them up!
