Who are we?

We are Swansea Council’s Sport and Health Team. An enthusiastic and dynamic team of sport and exercise development professionals, committed to promoting a lifelong involvement in sport and physical activity.

Our team focus on a variety of areas to ensure that everyone understands the importance of being active and has the opportunity to participate.

We support local clubs, schools, and teams to promote wellbeing and an active lifestyle across Swansea. We also host a range of weekly sessions to for people to encages in sport regardless of age or experience.

Weather your new to sport or an athlete, Sport and Health have plenty to offer!

Our weekly sessions

All sessions are subject to change.

• Dance Health and fitness, Monday, Forge Fach (Clydach), 10.30am-12.30pm. A fun class to improve balance, strength, agility and flexibility to support longevity and prevent falls. Class includes a cuppa and chat following. Call Vic on 07795295409 for more information and to book.
• Nordic Walking 16+, Tuesday, Cwmdonkin Park, 10.00am – 10.45am.
• Companion Rides, Wednesday, Dunvant Rugby Club, 10.00am – 12.00pm. Booking essential directly with Bike Ability Wales on 07584 044284.
• Low Impact Fitness for Older Adults, Wednesday, Sketty Park Community Centre, 10.00am – 10.45am.
• Pilates 16+, Wednesday, Neuadd Llewelyn Hall, 10.30am – 11.15am.
• Tai Chi 16+, Saturday, St Phillips Community Centre, 10.00am – 11.00am

What we offer

NERS

The scheme encourages individuals who are currently inactive to participating in sport as part of a preventative or rehabilitation programme. The scheme works in partnership with health professionals in Swansea including local GPs, practice nurses, dieticians, physiotherapists, diabetic nurses, psychologists and occupational therapists.

60+

Are you over 60 and want to get active? This is for you! We are here to help motivate you and support you in your active journey.

ParkLives

ParkLives offers fun activities in parks, encouraging people to make new friends and enjoy the green spaces in their local community.

From balance bikes and pop up sessions to health walks in the community, as well as tai chi, Nordic walking and low impact fitness, there’s a variety of ParkLives sessions, to suit everyone. The timetabled activities are usually one hour long and led by supportive, friendly, trained session leaders, and volunteers from the local communities.

Us Girls

Our Us Girls Camps will give you the opportunity to try out a range of different sports and activities in a fun, friendly and non-judgmental environment across three local leisure centre sites in Swansea; Penlan, Penyrheol and Cefn Hengoed, during school holidays.

Disability sport
