Dylan Thomas Exhibition

Dylan Thomas- His People and Places

20th September – 11th October

As part of the Dylan Thomas centenary celebrations, Attic Gallery is holding an exhibition of specially commissioned work ‘Dylan Thomas- His People and Places’, from some of Wales’ leading artists.

Dylan Thomas drew inspiration from his observations of the people and places in rural South West Wales and his home town of Swansea. Although much has changed since Thomas’ time, the landscapes, atmosphere and spirit of place and people of today would be recognisable to the poet.

The Attic Gallery asked seven leading Welsh artists, familiar with Thomas’ work, to explore and offer contemporary interpretations of the poet’s Welsh roots. Their themes will vary from stark urban landscapes, to poetic views of Swansea Bay, from intimate studies inside the Kardomah Café to the people of the South Wales industrial valleys.
