Swansea Council is the data controller for the personal information you provide on this website.  Your information will be used to provide you with the service that you have requested and will not be used for any other purpose.  We will not share your data with any third parties without your explicit consent unless we are required or permitted to do so by law.  You can withdraw your consent at any time and ask for your personal data to be erased from our records.

We respect the privacy of our website visitors and have put this Privacy Policy together with the intent of giving you peace of mind and confidence. The purpose of this privacy statement is to provide you, the User, with details of how Visit Swansea Bay will collect, store and use the personal data you supply. It is the stated policy of Visit Swansea Bay that it will act in accordance with current legislation and aims to meet current best practice with regard to the processing of personal data. Visit Swansea Bay is the name used by The Council of the City & County of Swansea Tourism Team.

1.2 Online forms, use of personal data

Any information that you provide online to Visit Swansea Bay, for example when requesting brochures, entering competitions or signing up for our newsletter, is captured and stored on our database. In addition to using this information to fulfil specific queries and requests; if you have opted in to receive further communications from us we will then keep you updated with news and promotions. When you provide personally identifiable information to us, we will only use it to provide you with ongoing information about Swansea Bay (Swansea, Mumbles and Gower) as a holiday destination if you have opted-in/agreed to receive this further communication. You will have the opportunity to unsubscribe from our database with every promotional email you receive.  You have a right to access, rectify, modify and delete any data referring to you. In order to exercise this right, please contact us immediately.

Where emails are submitted via a business listing page. All enquiries are sent to the Visit Swansea Bay team and automatically forwarded to the respective business. Other than the third party recipient of the enquiry, this data will not be passed on or sold to any other third parties. We will not rent, sell or lease this personally identifiable information to other companies or individuals without your prior permission.

Visit Swansea Bay will not retain the personal data it holds for longer than necessary and the Council follows legal guidelines on how long information should be kept before it is securely destroyed.  Visit Swansea Bay is obliged to supply you, on request, with a copy of the personal data it holds about you. Should you discover any inaccuracies in such personal information, please notify The City & County of Swansea as soon as possible. The City & County of Swansea will then correct its records, and notify any third parties to whom such personal information may have been transmitted in accordance with clause 1.2 above.
