Gower Coast Path

The Gower Coast Path takes in the whole range of our fabulous coastline, from wide golden beaches and dramatic cliffs to saltmarsh and sand dunes – and of course that means that there’s also a wide diversity of wildlife to experience along the way – so make sure you pack those binoculars – and your camera!

Recent upgrades mean that some sections of the Coast Path are now accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs – there are sections between Limeslade and Caswell Bays – meaning even more people can enjoy our coastline.

Keep those eyes peeled for a café to enjoy some rewarding post hike cake or ice cream!

Whether you are on a week’s walking holiday or just have a few hours, we have a selection of coastal walks ranging from ‘easy’ to ‘challenging’. Take a look at our Walking Routes pages to select your section (or sections!) of the path to walk and step into a world of soaring seascapes, rugged cliffs and green hillsides – take a deep breath, put your best foot forward and soon you’ll leave all those cares on the path – behind you!

There’s more!

Our lovely bit of Coast Path is a part of a much wider network; the Wales Coast Path allows walkers to explore almost the entire Welsh coastline, now that’s a lot of coast to conquer! Taking you through the country’s heritage, communities and jaw dropping landscapes.

Walk safe

Don’t forget to stay safe while on your coastal walk; always dress appropriately for the terrain and weather, follow the path and leave the countryside as you found it!

Be particularly careful when the footpath is close to the edge of a cliff – especially after heavy rain or storms as sections of the cliff edge could be loose.

If walking near the shoreline, then keep an eye on the state of the tide, as it can turn very quickly here causing a tidal surge or rip tide; especially at Three Cliffs Bay, Burry Holms and the Worm’s Head causeway. The Worm’s Head, Rhossili Coastwatch Centre can help you plan your Rhossili walk safely.
