Cultures combine and collide in a kaleidoscopic celebration of symphonic symbiosis. Sacrificial tribal rituals, jazz, folk music and traditions old and new infuse this concert, which culminates in a reflection of what Copland himself refers to as a piece that captures the euphoric spirit of a post war America.
To perform Gershwin’s iconic and immensely popular Rhapsody in Blue, we’re joined by the captivating, charismatic and prodigiously talented Daniel Ciobanu, alongside a familiar face to BBC NOW audiences – the wonderful Carlos Miguel Prieto.
