The band, who reached the final of Britain’s Got Talent earlier this month, will headline the Live at Singleton Park event on Sunday (June 30).

The event, organised by Swansea Council, is part of the Swansea Bay Festival.

Also performing are two of the UK’s leading tribute acts, Take That 2 and The Monophonics. Back for Good, Never Forget and A Thousand Trees are among the classic tracks set to feature.

A big top marquee is being set up just for the day to accommodate the bands and the crowds.

The gates open at 2pm with live music starting from 4pm.

Cllr Nick Bradley, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “The impact of TV talent shows over the last decade has been huge. Programmes like The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent have generated stars who have gone on to conquer the UK and beyond, and there was a real buzz of excitement about The Luminites when they recently performed in front of Simon Cowell and the other judges. It’s fantastic that they’ll be performing in Swansea within weeks of winning many hundreds of thousands of new fans across the country.

“The combination of up-and-coming stars, top tribute acts and leading local bands will make Live at Singleton a concert to remember.”

Soul Jam, The Fevers and Like a Lion are some of the local groups taking part.

Tickets for Live at Singleton Park are now on sale. They cost £8 (Standard), £6.50 (Concessions) and £5 (Passport to Leisure).

You can book tickets now by visiting http://www.swanseabayfestival.co.uk or calling 01792 637300. Tickets are also available from Swansea Tourist Information Office on Plymouth Street and Derricks Music on Oxford Street.

Live at Singleton Park is supported by The Wave and Swansea Sound.
