So, you thought you had to save those pennies, hop on a plane and head abroad for a Gap year? Think again! If you’re considering taking a short career break, or want to escape to somewhere new for a change of scenery – head to Swansea Bay. 1.) ‘I’m a Celebrity..Get me out of here’ may be a distant memory but here’s your chance to try your hand at foraging, fire lighting and shelter building with Dryad Bushcraft – there won’t be any Bushtucker Trials but we can’t guarantee it will be ‘bug-free’!
2.) Who needs Bondi Beach when you’ve got Swansea Bay? Get kitted up, grab your board and paddle and head out with Gower Stand up Paddle – the water’s a bit cooler here, but the views are just as beautiful!
3.) Be Tarzan for the day! Head to Go Ape Margam for zip wires, tarzan swings and rope ladders.
4.) Embark on an Eco Adventure with Down to Earth. Climb a tree, carve your own walking stick, and bake your own handmade pizza in a wood fired earth oven.
5.) Fancy coasteering on an award winning beach? Gower Activity Centres will take you to the rocks at Rhossili Bay (voted Wales’ Best Beach 2018 and 3rd in the UK in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards) where you can take that huge leap into the water below.
6.) Learn to kite buggy or kite land board along the five mile sweep of Swansea Bay with Gower Kite Riders. The traffic isn’t too bad in these parts so you’ll have plenty of room to manoeuvre!
7.) Thundercats are go! Are you into speed, exhilaration and don’t mind getting really wet? Let Oxwich Watersports take you on a coastal adventure you won’t forget!
