Don’t miss big-name chefs, food and drink, live music and loads of family fun.

From 29 February to 3 March, Swansea will be celebrating the best of food, drink, and Welsh culture.

Free to attend, wander around the city centre to find cooking demonstrations by top chefs, live music, competitions for all ages, food, drink and craft stalls, children’s activities, and much more. There is something for everyone.

Croeso is brought to you by Swansea Council in association with First Cymru – getting to the event is less fuss when you take the bus!

Enjoy big-name chefs and big flavours

Get inspired at the live cooking demonstrations in Swansea Market and the Portland Street Marquee. Hosted by a variety of renowned chefs, stop by to hear the best tips and tricks for recreating classic Welsh dishes.

TV cookery legend Rustie Lee will be cooking up a storm with a Welsh twist in our demo marquee on Saturday 2 March. You can find her in the Portland Street Marquee at 2pm.

Michelin Star Chef, Hywel Griffith will be highlighting his passion for Welsh food and produce in a live cooking demo in the Portland Street Marquee at 12pm on Sunday 3 March.

Nathan Davies has represented Wales in BBC’s Great British Menu. His food style is seasonally driven with an emphasis on big flavours. Nathan’s cooking demonstration is in Portland Street Marquee at 3pm on Sunday the 3 March.

Francessco Mattana, the culinary mind behind Our Cooking Journey will be at Croeso festival on Saturday 2 March. Join him in Swansea Market at 1pm and at the Portland Street Marquee at 3pm as he whips up a tasty treat not to be missed.

Completing our culinary line-up is Jonathan Woolway (The Shed), John Taylor (The Welsh House), Katie Davies (Britain’s Best Home Cook), Sian Day (My Kitchen Rules), Sian RobertsSteven Bartram (Bartram’s), Jo Pratt, Iokasti’s Greek Kitchen, Matt Waldron (Stackpole Inn/ Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted Showdown) and Tom Surgey with his cocktail masterclass.

Enjoy live music and entertainment!

There is more to Croeso than food and drink, listen out for the sounds of original Welsh music bringing St David’s Place to life.

The line-up includes Familia de la Noche providing Welsh and bilingual performances, Alis Glyn, BLE?, Taran, Spwci, The Phoenix Choir of Wales and more!

The music does not stop when the sun goes down.

Croeso Nightworks will be continuing the festivities with live music in venues across the city centre.

Live music events start Thursday night with BBC Now’s St David’s Day Stravaganza in the Brangwyn Hall and the Cân i Gymru Launch with Morgan Elwy, Mali Hâf, Lily Maya and Sgilti in Swansea Arena.

Head down to The Bunkhouse Friday evening for live performances from Islet, Angel Hotel, The Bad Electric, Eädyth and Kid Mercury starting from 6pm.

On Saturday, Tŷ Tawe and Elysium are the places to be. Tŷ Tawe will have performances from Brigyn, Danielle Lewis and Cwtsh starting at 6.30pm whilst at Elysium, you can see Sage Todz and Luke RV & Friends from 8pm.

Fun for the family

 

Wandering around Croeso, you’ll find plenty of fun for the whole family.

There will be shows for children, walkabout acts, characters, and craft workshops.

The Croeso parade will be bringing festival atmosphere to the city centre on Saturday.

The National Waterfront Museum will be a St David’s day themed family event each day from 1 March.

Whilst the Quadrant Shopping Centre will be hosting workshops creating Welsh Crafts on 2 and 3 March.

If you are in the mood for more, head over to the Cwtsh Marquee where Mr Urdd, Magi Ann, and Cymraeg I blant will be there Saturday and Sunday singing songs and playing games with everyone.
