Swansea Festival of Stitch returns for 2018!
The Festival will be another exciting extravaganza of Exhibitions, free Skills Taster Sessions, a weekend Makers and Traders Market and Masterclasses from renowned artists.
From the 10 – 24 August, all that is best in textile art will be showcased in Swansea…
Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 August
Morning 10am-12pm | Afternoon 2pm-4pm
Sessions will be held in Swansea City Centre and are entirely free of charge.

Swansea Museum will host the Festival’s daytime Masterclasses.
This year the Festival presents an outstanding programme of classes led by some of the UK’s most esteemed artists and tutors.
Techniques covered will range from traditional shibori to an exploration of surface design using the natural environment.

The 2018 Makers and Traders Market will take place on 18 and 19 August in the National Waterfront Museum and will once again be filled with wonderful Welsh textile goods, with the exciting addition of Traders to the event. This means there will also be suppliers of threads, wools and fabrics at the market.

The Quilt Expo exhibition will feature a mix of traditional and contemporary quilts.
In addition, there will be a display of antique quilts and quilts by Mother of Africa.
Lace Makers will also have a display of lacework and will be providing the opportunity to have a go at lace making.

Workshops are free and the tutor will supply all materials needed, no need to bring anything.
