… We’ve got wide open spaces, fresh air and lots of ways to make the most of our cracking countryside!

It’s a wonderful time of year to explore our countryside, the days are still warm, the grass a rich green and the leaves are just thinking about changing colour to russet reds and yellows.

Slow it right down and take a relaxing ramble along a lakeside path in the Lliw Valley – look out for the new sculpture trail.  Or follow a woodland walk in Penllergare – pause to listen to the waterfall and watch for kingfishers along the bank.  Instant calm.

Feeling more adventurous? Then the Gower Way is a challenging route to tick off your walking to-do list. In three sections, this takes you through the heart of Swansea Bay from Rural Swansea in the North to the westernmost tip of the Gower Peninsula – epic!

That all sounds like hungry work, and while the days can still be warm, the chillier evenings mean that cosying up in a country pub (complete with roaring fire), enjoying a guilt-free afternoon cream tea or just a hot chocolate with all the trimmings is definitely allowed – you’re on holiday after all!
