What is the World Triathlon Para Series Swansea?

The city of Swansea will again host the World Triathlon Para Series in 2024, welcoming the world’s best paratriathletes to South Wales including Paralympic, World and European champions. 2022 saw Swansea host Britain’s first-ever standalone World Triathlon Para Series event and this international paratriathlon event will again return to the city. The elites will be joined by up-and-coming athletes for a leg of the British Triathlon Paratri Super Series as well as opportunities for participants to take part across swim, bike, run – all at the Prince of Wales Dock and SA1 Waterfront.

Where is it?

The start, finish and event village are all based at the SA1 Waterfront, next to the Prince of Wales Dock and South Quay.

When is it?

World Triathlon Para Series Swansea takes place on Saturday 22 June 2024.

Where can I sign up to volunteer?

How can I get involved?

  • You can get involved by taking part in one of the participation events, volunteering, spectating or even providing entertainment.
  • Entries will be opening soon for the British Triathlon Paratri Super Series and GO TRI Disability Aquathlon events at the 2024 World Triathlon Para Series Swansea.
  • British Triathlon Paratri Super Series – The race is open to both paratriathlon classified and non-classified athletes – non-classified athletes will be included in the wave racing against other athletes with a comparable impairment.   • Participation opportunity – there will be more information revealed soon on how you can get involved in swim bike and run at the event.

  • We are offering free general admission areas around the waterfront to spectate during the morning and the elite races, with the event village part of this. With plenty to do, lots to explore and even more to keep you entertained no matter your age, it is the perfect destination for those looking to make the most of their day in Swansea whilst supporting our athletes.

Spectator Information

Will there be road closures?

In order to safely facilitate the event, a number of temporary road closures, traffic diversions and parking restrictions will be in place in the area, ensure the safety of athletes and the public.

Are tickets required for the event village?

No, currently we are looking to offer free general admission areas around the waterfront to spectate during the morning and the elite races, with the event village part of this. With plenty to do, lots to explore and even more to keep you entertained no matter your age, it is the perfect destination for those looking to make the most of their day in Swansea. Over the weekend you will find:

  • Food and drink
  • Big screen showing all the action
  • Entertainment for all the family

I would like to spectate at the event, is the site accessible for those with a disability?

  • The event is accessible for all. There will be a dedicated accessible viewing area located near the finish line on a first come, first served basis

What time will 2024 World Triathlon Para Series elite races start?

The event schedule will be confirmed closer to the event with the elite racing taking place in the afternoon.

Where is the best place to see all the action?

The start, finish and event village are all based in SA1 Waterfront but the full routes are yet to be announced.
