Swansea hosted another summer of world class sport in 2024, with the 2024 World Triathlon Para Series returning on 22 June and Ironman 70.3 Swansea on 14 July! We also saw the return of the week-long Para Sport Festival, welcoming back thousands of athletes, supporters and spectators!
From 21 June – 13 July the Para Sport Festival, featuring amazing Participate and Volunteer events, gave everyone the opportunity to get involved, as well as incredible Spectate events offering the chance to see top level paratriathletes in action.
On Saturday 22 June, some of the world’s best paratriathletes descended on Swansea and competed for gold across the city in the 2024 World Triathlon Para Series Swansea.
And the summer sport finished with a flourish on Sunday 14 July with Ironman 70.3 Swansea, where thousands of competitors took on the Swansea course, showing off our incredible City, Bay and Gower. From professionals competing to qualify for major events, to everyday competitors challenging themselves to complete this incredible endurance race, they were cheered on by thousands of spectators, family and friends.
Athletes and spectators can expect a fantastic route in a race destination offering scenic beauty with the historic SA1 dockside, Gower Peninsula and the rolling green hills, pastures and rich agriculture of Rural Swansea.
Following on from the week-long success of last years’ event, the Para Sport Festival 2024 returned to Swansea to build on the local inclusive opportunities and competitive para sport opportunities that were showcased last year.
