We all love a sunny day and Swansea has so many beautiful places to explore!

We’ve pulled together a few ideas on what you could do when the sun is shining and would love to see your videos and photos of your sunny days on our Facebook page.

So step outdoors, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy your day out.

Enjoy a day at the beach

Swansea has some of the best beaches in the UK, if not the world, and you are sure to have a great day out at the seaside.

If you’re after a day of walking and wonderful views then nothing beats Rhossili Bay with its 3 miles of gorgeous coastline.

If you’re after a little more action and a day catching the waves then there is no better place than Llangennith for trying out some surfing or enjoy water sports at Port Eynon and Oxwich.

If relaxing on a family friendly beach is more your thing head to Langland, Caswell, Horton or Oxwich where there is plenty of sand for sand-sculpting, kite-flying, sun-bathing or frisbee throwing.

Rock-pooling is always a great activity when at the beach so grab a bucket and go exploring the underside of rocks.  Look out for shells, fossils, fish, crabs and interesting plant life and please do share what you find with us on Facebook we would love to see what you find.

So whether it’s building sandcastles, exploring rock-pools surfing or sea-swimming,  there are so many beautiful beaches to enjoy and we’ve got full details here!

Enjoy the pretty, playful parks

Many of us have been visiting our local parks during lockdown, exploring what’s on our doorstep and discovering places that we didn’t know exist.

There’s certainly plenty of open spaces and parks to enjoy in Swansea; in fact there are 52 of them spaced out across our city and all free to visit.

So what fun could you have when visiting the parks? Some favourite activities include playing ball games such as football, tennis, rounders and catch. Taking lunch, setting up at a picturesque spot and enjoying a picnic is certainly a favourite too.

There’s always smiles from those who are feeding the ducks at Brynmill Park and many like to explore the wildlife as well as researching the different types of trees – how many will you find?

And for many, the park is a space for keeping fit whether it’s through jogging, taking a leisurely stroll, riding a bike or making an obstacle course for the youngsters to enjoy.

Check out details of Swansea’s parks here and explore a new park this summer!
