Not long now! There are just a few more days left in school and work (if you’re lucky), the tree is decorated, presents are being wrapped and the Brussels sprouts are being prepped. Swansea is bustling with Christmas activity, read on to find out what fun packed festivities are taking place over the next couple of weeks. 

Enjoy Swansea Christmas Market

The Christmas Market is in full swing, but there are only a few shopping days left so make sure you head down by Wednesday 20th December! The festive chalets lining Oxford Street and Whitewalls offer a variety of treats and unique gifts, from hand crafted brooches, candles and ceramics to liqueurs, brownies and churros. There’s still time to pick up some beautiful cards, wreaths and personalised Christmas decorations too. The Bavarian Bar offers a cosy spot for a mulled wine and there’s plenty of choice for a bite to eat.

 

 

Gift shopping at the Quadrant

Pick up your Christmas presents at the Quadrant this December! With over 30 top brands from Pandora, Schuh and Boots, to The Entertainer, Rugby Heaven and Superdry, you’ll find gifts for all. Several shops are open until Christmas Eve, with plenty of options for everyone this Christmas.

 

 

Festivities at Freedom Leisure

If the weather outside is a bit too frightful, and the family are going stir-crazy in the house over the holidays, head to the LC in Swansea this Christmas. The LC is home to Wales’ biggest indoor waterpark with slides and waves, with a 30ft climbing wall, and a 4-storey play area, it is the ideal hub for your kiddies over the holidays.

If you’re after a relaxing experience, the Spa at LC is the perfect place for you to take a break from the Christmas chaos. Gift vouchers are still available for the perfect last minute present.

 

 

Step into Christmas at Swansea’s Waterfront Winterland

Get your skates on! The Ice Rink is under cover, so you can skate in all weathers, skating aids are available for young children and relaxed sessions take place every Tuesday. Say Hello, Ho, Ho! to Santa at Santa’s Grotto, open 5pm – 8pm weekdays, and 12pm to 8pm weekends.

Did you know that Waterfront Winterland has more rides than anywhere else in Wales? New this year is the Ice Jet, reaching speeds of over 50mph it’s a must for thrill seekers. The Alpine Village is the perfect place to meet up with friends and family and enjoy some festive food and drink.

It’s panto season at Swansea Grand Theatre! (Oh, yes it is!)

It really is, as this year’s spectacular production of Cinderella has opened at Swansea Grand Theatre to rave reviews! The show stars TV favourites and dancing duo, AJ & Curtis Pritchard, and Swansea panto legends, the hilarious and much-loved Kev Johns and Matt Edwards, alongside a full cast of talented performers.

Featuring a dazzling digital set, buckets of audience participation, and heaps of hilarity, Cinderella runs until Sunday 7 January. Don’t miss it, book your tickets today!

 

 

 

Find the elf at the National Waterfront Museum

There’s more festive fun at the National Waterfront Museum this Christmas. A warm, inviting place to explore and relax, drop in and take part in the Find the Elf Christmas trail, a fun way to keep the little ones entertained in the run up to Christmas. We are open the week in between the Christmas period, from the 27– 31 December, providing a FREE festive activity to get out of the cold for some fun, and to explore the exhibitions and history of the museum.

Seasonal music at the Brangwyn Hall

Last minute tickets are still available for this week’s performances – get in the Christmas spirit with Bublé, Adele or Christmas by Candlelight. Ticket to (sleigh) Ride

No need to think about parking, petrol, charging or traffic, buses are free to ride anywhere within Swansea county on Saturday 23rd and Christmas Eve AND between Wednesday 27th – Sunday 31st. Head into town and enjoy the Waterfront Winterland or take a trip down Gower and burn off a couple of mince pies with a wintry walk.
