Guided Tours of Oystermouth Castle

The Friends of Oystermouth Castle are hosting FREE guided tours starting at 11.30am every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday until the end September. The tours will tell you all about the history of the castle as well as share secrets and stories about those who once lived there.

21 June: Enchanted Fairy Trail🧚

Our charming fairies and silly elves will guide children (and their parents or guardians) on a 30-minute twinkling trail. The adventure will take them through the secret castle, have them sneak past naughty elves, all before they head into the enchanted forest, where they'll search for our lost fairies. Normal admission charges apply.

13 and 14 August: Outdoor Theatre 🎫

Are you ready to experience the magic of Outdoor Theatre?
The incredible Illyria are returning to the Oystermouth Castle grounds with their versions of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ on 13 August at 7pm and ‘The Wind in the Willows’ on 14 August at 2pm. Outdoor Theatre is brought to you by Swansea council.

25 August: Princes and Princesses Day 👑

Our most popular event, Princes and Princesses Day, returns to Oystermouth Castle on Monday 25 August. Characters from all your favourite shows will join us for a day of entertainment, games, stories and more. There will also be the opportunity for your little princes and princesses to take photos with the characters throughout the day.

13 September: Open Day 🏰

Oystermouth Castle's annual open day returns on Saturday 13 September. Immerse yourself in medieval life whilst you enjoy the Heritage Metal Detector displays, a food display, craft a medieval icon, discover weaving and fashion of the times, and dive into games, stories, and dragons!

25 October: The Spooky Castle🎃

A different slant on Halloween where it becomes fun not scary!
With our magic wands in hand, we'll frighten off the naughty witches and smelly goblins. We have our wicked witch telling stories, the silly warriors, and Dave the Dragon with his naughty alter-ego Deffor Dragon, plus much, much, more, but nothing that will make you jump…….unless you're turned into a frog!

31 October: The Dark Side of Oystermouth Castle👻

The Dark Side of Oystermouth Castle Halloween Special is a totally unique experience. In the castle with a few others, it’s dark and quiet except for the odd scream. Your guide will tell you the chilling, sometimes brutal and occasionally worrying true tales of the black history of Oystermouth Castle…need you know more!
