Dirty Dancing

Swansea’s outdoor cinema at The Lacrosse Field, Singleton Park will be screening Dirty Dancing on Saturday 26 July at 8.45pm.

About the film: Set in 1963, Dirty Dancing tells the love story of Frances 'Baby' Houseman (Jennifer Grey) and Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze). Whilst at a vacation resort, 'Baby' meets dance instructor Johnny at a secret 'Dirty Dancing' party for the resort staff which is where their love story begins. The story then follows them through the vacation season as they navigate hiding their relationship from those around them before the main end of season show which features the iconic - 'I've had the time of my life' dance scene between 'Baby' and Johnny.

About the film: Based on the 1974 book of the same name, Steven Spielberg’s Jaw celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025 making it the perfect time to re-watch this timeless classic. The film follows police officer Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), who, with the help of oceanographer Matt Hooper and professional shark hunter, Quint (Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw) hunt a man-eating great white shark which has been terrorising beachgoers in the New England beach town, Amity Island.
