A vibrant programme of world-class jazz talent has been announced for this year’s Swansea International Jazz Festival, set to take place from 3 – 6 September 2026 across venues in the city. Presented by Swansea Council, the festival promises four days of outstanding live music, showcasing an exciting mix of internationally acclaimed artists and leading UK performers.

Nicolas Meier
Thursday 3 September, Swansea Grand Theatre
Best known for touring with the Jeff Beck Band, Nicolas Meier blends musical influences from Turkish and Middle Eastern traditions with flamenco, tango, and contemporary jazz to create his own vibrant and expressive sound.
Claire Martin and Laurence Cottle ‘Bass to Face’
Friday 4 September, National Waterfront Museum
Claire Martin and Laurence Cottle join forces at the Swansea International Jazz Festival to present their exciting new project, ‘Bass to Face’, performing songs they have written together over the years, but also classics from Monk to Ellington, Strayhorn and Porter. They will also include a selection of Carpenter’s and Randy Crawford tunes for good measure.
Georgina Jackson’s ‘Sass and Brass’
Friday 4 September, Swansea Minster
With her signature velvety vocals and powerhouse trumpet playing, Georgina, alongside her Mighty Mini Big Band, serves up an irresistible mix of swinging standards, soulful bluesy ballads, and iconic favourites, all wrapped in the glamorous glow of classic Vintage Vegas.
Aidan Thorne and Jason Ball
Saturday 5 September, National Waterfront Museum
Aidan Thorne and Jason Ball will be performing their music, which reimagines Welsh folk melodies through a blend of improvisation, jazz, and minimalism, all set within an atmospheric, ambient sound world.
Power of Gower Festival Big Band
Saturday 5 September, Swansea Minster
Led by Dave Cottle, this powerhouse ensemble unites some of the finest jazz and session musicians from South Wales and beyond, performing exciting big‑band classics from Thad Jones & Mel Lewis, Gordon Goodwin, Bill Holman, Ted Heath, Count Basie, and more.
James Allsopp Quartet plays Stan Getz
Saturday 5 September, National Waterfront Museum
With his new quartet, award-winning saxophonist James Allsopp pays tribute to one of his lifelong musical inspirations, the legendary Stan Getz. Drawing on the music he grew up loving, Allsopp celebrates Getz’s extraordinary legacy with a fresh, contemporary touch.
Christian Garrick’s String Bag
Saturday 5 September, Swansea Minster
For Saturday’s final show Christian Garrick brings his exciting new project, String Bag, a “brand‑new mini‑band showcasing bowed strings outside their comfort zone of classical music.”
The Cottle Brothers Dixieland All-star Band
Sunday 6 September, National Waterfront Museum
Join The Cottle Brothers with an all-star band for a special performance that returns to their musical roots. You’ll relish their musical trip back to Bourbon Street, with a nod to some of the great New Orleans, Dixieland style bands.
Tango Jazz Quartet
Sunday 6 September, National Waterfront Museum
We’re thrilled to welcome the Tango Jazz Quartet to this year’s Swansea International Jazz Festival for a spellbinding performance that blends the fiery spirit of Argentinian tango with the freedom and creativity of jazz improvisation.
Hejira – The Music of Joni Mitchell
Sunday 6 September, Swansea Minster
Inspired by Joni Mitchell’s ground-breaking late-70s jazz period and classic albums Hejira, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter, and Mingus, as well as the iconic live recording Shadows and Light, the band brings this rich repertoire back to the stage with style and authenticity.
