It’s officially summer in Swansea Bay. Time for days at the beach, walks with friends, picnics at the park and ice cream! As ever, there’s plenty to do inside and out, read on for this month’s highlights and check out our events calendar below for more great events!
Free Bus Travel Returns for the Summer!
Ding ding! All aboard. The free bus offer will be available every Saturday and Sunday from July 19 - August 31. Everyone can benefit as long as their journey starts within Swansea county before 7pm, and ends within Swansea county. Where will you go?
Summer in our Cultural Venues
With a month of school holidays to fill, head to our cultural venues for free workshops, films, self-led activities, trails, exhibitions and more! Complete this year’s libraries reading challenge, take on the K'Nex Big Build Challenge at the National Waterfront Museum, explore the Grimwood Museum Adventure trail at the Dylan Thomas Centre or take a Family Gallery Tour at the Glynn Vivian.
Outdoor Theatre - 13 and 14 August
This summer, outdoor theatre returns to the idyllic grounds of Oystermouth Castle. The historic monument acts as the backdrop for two literary classics adapted for the stage: Pride and Prejudice on Wednesday 13 August and The Wind in the Willows on Thursday 14 August.
Amplitude - 16 and 17 August
There's just over a week until Amplitude returns to Swansea! Join us for 2 days of FREE live music in the city’s amphitheatre. We’ve got a cracking line up of artists including Disco Panther, Kizzy Crawford and Who’s Molly. Head on down for an afternoon of great tunes, dancing, food and drink. The music continues into the night on Saturday with an after party at Elysium, come along and support grassroots music!
Prince and Princesses Day - 25 August
Princes and Princesses Day returns to Oystermouth Castle this August! All your favourite characters will be at the castle for a delightful day of entertainment, games, stories and more on Monday 25 August from 11am until 4pm. Normal admission charges apply.
Outdoor Attractions
Take a leisurely trip up and down Swansea prom on the Swansea Bay Land Rider! Hop on and off as much as you like! Running 7 days a week during the holidays, it’s wheelchair accessible and even welcoming to well behaved dogs on leads! Have you seen the unicorn pedalos and dinosaurs at Singleton Boating Lake yet? Competitive families will love a game of crazy golf at Singleton or Southend Gardens, and everyone loves a splash at Blackpill Lido in the sunshine!

Swansea International Jazz Festival
4 - 7 September
This year’s Swansea International Jazz Festival promises another unforgettable celebration of great music and tickets are on sale now!
The city’s maritime quarter hosts some of the most swingingest jazz acts around including London Django Collective, Long & Spillet's Jazz Scurriers, Wonder of Stevie and local supergroup Power of Gower Festival Big Band! There are also afternoon sessions aboard the Copper Jack river boat as it cruises up the River Tawe.

Admiral Swansea Bay 10k - 14 September
The deadline to enter the Admiral Swansea Bay 10K is fast approaching. You only have until 31 August to secure your place for the race on 14 September. With a 10k, 3k and 1k races, there is something for the whole family.
Why not take on a flat, fast course along the breathtaking Swansea Bay? With stunning coastal views and incredible crowd support, it’s more than just a race – it’s an experience!
