We've had another amazing summer of events in Swansea Bay. We hope you've managed a couple of visits to one of our beaches, and maybe an ice cream or two - but the seasons are changing, and it's time to dive back into a routine. Read on to find out what's coming up this month.
Swansea International Jazz Festival

Swansea International Jazz Festival takes place the first weekend of September (4-7) in various locations across the city. There are performances from the likes of Five Way Split, Spice Fusion, Big Band Triple H Horns featuring Mo Pleasure, Kedma Cacias and Wayne Hernadez, and the Power of Gower Festival Big Band.

Oystermouth Castle Open Day
The castle is opening its portcullis and welcoming the public inside for its free Open Day on Saturday 13 September.
There will be a Medieval food display, weaving and fashion of the times, games, stories, dragons (!) and you can even ‘craft a medieval icon’ and bring along any found objects to be identified by the Heritage Metal Detectors Club!
Admiral Swansea Bay 10k
The Admiral Swansea Bay 10k takes place on Sunday 14 September. Entries are now closed but you can come and support the runners on the route. Clap, cheer and high five over 4000 participants. Tigers & Dragons: India and Wales in Britain
Have you seen the latest exhibition at the Glynn Vivian yet? It features over 100 artworks – paintings, photographs, performances, textiles, sculptural installations and new media – by roughly 70 artists from Wales, England, India and Pakistan.
Each explores the iconography of South Asian nations and Wales. The huge tapestry work by Adeela Sulema is a must see! There’s also artwork from JDW Turner, Bedwyr Williams, Frank Brangwyn and pieces ranging from the 1700s to the present day. The exhibition runs until Sunday 2 November.

Wales' largest Science Festival returns!
Looking for something special to do this October half-term? Swansea Science Festival is back for a weekend full of fun, discovery and hands-on science.
At the Waterfront Museum you’ll find exciting shows and activities for all ages. Join TV presenter Hamza Yassin live on stage as he shares amazing animal facts and answers your questions about the natural world.
Also enjoy the Bubbles and Balloons spectacular, meet real-life Super Hero Scientists, and explore the Splendiferous Science of Roald Dahl. Alongside our headline shows, there will be free drop-in activities and interactive exhibits for curious minds big and small.

Spooks in the City
Halloween costumes at the ready for Spooks in the City! The freaky, fun, family event returns to St David’s Place in Swansea city centre on Saturday 25 October. You can expect a day of entertainment, face painting, crafts and more!
Fireworks Night
Swansea’s Annual Firework Display will return on Wednesday 5 November at St Helen's Ground, lighting up the night with dazzling colours and unforgettable moments. More exciting plans to be announced soon, including entertainment, food stalls, and family-friendly activities to make the evening truly spectacular.
