Romance is in the air in Swansea Bay ❤
Did you know that here in Wales, we have our very own version of St Valentine's Day? On 25th January, we celebrate St Dwynwen’s Day named after Santes Dwynwen, a fourth century princess and Welsh patron saint of lovers. And of course, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner too, so love is certainly in the air in Swansea Bay. We have plenty of ideas that will help you show your 'cariad' (that's Welsh for love) just how much they truly mean to you.
Romantic Breaks
Whether you prefer a boutique hotel in the heart of the City or a cosy coastal (or rural!) cottage where you can also bring your furry friend, you'll find the perfect romantic getaway here.

Date Night
Date night is easy in Swansea Bay. Why not spend a romantic evening having a candlelit dinner for two before heading to the theatre to enjoy a show? Or for something a little more casual, enjoy drinks with a view then head to a local gig!

Day Date Ideas
If a romantic day out is more your thing, check out our romantic trails video. Discover our beautiful beaches and bracing coastal walks with plenty of local coffee (and cake!) stops along the way!
Give a gift they’ll love
Is food the way to your loved one’s heart? Treat them to fresh oysters by the sea or sample locally brewed beers, gin, and whisky. If a more traditional gift is what you're after, choose the Welsh symbol of affection, a unique Welsh love spoon (we’ve got an entire gallery in Mumbles dedicated to them!), or head to local markets, shops and galleries for locally inspired artwork, ceramics, and jewellery.
