Join us on Swansea’s stunning waterfront for a free weekend packed with maritime adventure, family entertainment, live performances and hands-on activities as the Swansea Sea Festival arrives on 8-9 August. 
Taking place across Museum Park, Swansea Marina and the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea Sea Festival celebrates the city’s rich maritime heritage, bringing to life the people, stories and industries that have shaped the area’s connection to the sea.

What can you look forward to? 

You’ll find a packed programme to keep you entertained throughout the day, including: 
•    Free boat trips around Swansea Marina 
•    Live rescue demonstrations from the Maritime Volunteer Service and Royal Naval Reserve 
•    RNLI and water safety displays 
•    Live music and sea shanties 
•    A pirate ship with walkabout pirates 
•    A magical Mermaid Lagoon 
•    Free face painting, arts and crafts 
•    Beach Academy seashell displays 
•    Giant ocean-themed inflatable sculptures 
•    The towering Stilted Fisherman 
•    Traditional ship carving demonstrations 
•    Local makers and artisan traders at Crafters' Cove 
 

Swansea Sea Festival

You will also have the chance to discover Swansea’s maritime history through heritage displays, storytelling sessions, workshops and interactive exhibits delivered by a range of partners including the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea Museum, Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, the Dylan Thomas Centre, Mission Gallery and The Environment Centre. 

Music lovers can explore neighbouring venues featured on the stroller programme or sit back and enjoy traditional folk and sea shanty performances with the Copper Jack. 

Whether you're fascinated by maritime history, looking for a fun family day out, or simply want to enjoy the atmosphere on Swansea's vibrant waterfront, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Best of all, entry is completely FREE!
