When the festive fun is over and we’ve welcomed in the New Year, the short days and cold weather can prove challenging, so it’s important that we look after ourselves.

We all know that exercise can boost mood and energy levels and being outside in the fresh air, surrounded by nature is always a tonic. Rural Swansea is ideal for long country walks and Gower is the perfect place for bracing coast path rambles to blow those cobwebs away.

Explore the area by bike, we’ve miles of scenic cycle paths to follow and many routes are part of the Celtic Trail and National Cycle Network. No bike? No problem! You can hire one here in Swansea Bay.

If you’d prefer to stay active indoors, take on a climbing wall or an axe throwing session, you may find your new favourite hobby! Keep your mind active too by challenging yourself with an escape room, or discover something new at one of our galleries or museums.

Get crafty and take part in a workshop, or head to the theatre and catch a show! Or, if you’re feeling energetic, hit the dancefloor and throw some shapes in a lively bar – music, laughter and movement is good for the soul!

Stay connected with friends and family by arranging a 'low-cost' meet up at the park or beach, or treat yourself to an evening out where someone else takes care of the cooking! Choose from coastal restaurants with great sea views to warm country pubs with roaring log fires! Or sample some local produce at Swansea Market (the largest indoor market in Wales).
