Spooks in the City returns for 2026!

Spooks in the City, Swansea Council's free Halloween event supported by Lepas Day's Motor Group, returns to St David's Place on 31 October with a colourful celebration inspired by El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
The city centre will come alive with traditional live music, dance performances, face painting, craft activities and entertainment from walkabout characters and mariachi bands. Throughout the event, visitors can enjoy larger-than-life characters, illuminated costumes and stilt walkers who will bring the space to life. High-energy circus acts from Swansea's Circus Eruption will also be roaming around and dazzling crowds with their skills.
A packed programme of activities will include shadow puppet workshops with Tallulah Swirls, sugar skull decorating with ILA-Wales (Iberians & Latin Americans in Wales), and circus skills sessions with Organised Kaos where visitors can try juggling, diablo and stilt walking.
A variety of performances will take place throughout the day, including traditional Latin American dance performances exploring the history and cultural significance of El Día de los Muertos, alongside the spectacular Caravan of Lost Souls featuring acrobats, fire performers and circus artists.
This year's El Día de los Muertos theme offers an opportunity for people to experience and learn about a rich cultural tradition through music, dance, creativity and live entertainment, while still enjoying all the family-friendly fun that Spooks in the City has become known for.
